Organisation Overview

Australia India Community Charitable Trust (AICCT) was founded by Mr Vasan Srinivasan to further the cause of Australian Indian Community to identify sustainable and targeted major infrastructure initiatives and facilitate implementing the same with due negotiation across Federal, State and Local governments for the benefit of the larger community in Victoria. 

History

In 2012 General Council meeting of FIAV (Federation of Indian Associations in Victoria) President (Mr Vasan Srinivasan and the executives) established Australian Indian Community Charitable Trust (AICCT) and selected like-minded board members that shall work to identify major infrastructure project needs of Indian community in Victoria and work out a process to deliver the same. 

Vision


The Primary vision of AICCT is to act as a bridge between the Community and the Government to negotiate and deliver major infrastructure initiatives to benefit the Community at large. 


The AICCT seeks to work towards creating major community infrastructure facilities for the fast-growing Australian Indian community in Victoria, that has seen double growth figures consistently over the last 2 decades. 


To create an Ethno-specific Indian Aged care that takes care of the specific needs of Indian origin Australians. 


To secure a full-fledged Community centre that can cater to the growing community needs in Victoria. 


Establish an Indian Museum in Victoria, that acts as a cultural link to the history of India and thereby promoting the heritage and traditions of Indian values to the community. 


To setup a retirement village project for community members seeking to down-size and enter into the retirement phase of life. 


Facilitate an Indian specific educational institution that adds value to needs of the Australian Indian community seeking to give their children the best of both worlds. 

Mission

✔︎ Seeks to further the cause of Indian Community by taking into consideration the cultural and linguistic needs of the diaspora who migrated and made Australia their home and creating sustainable initiatives for the benefit of the community at large. 


✔︎ Act as a facilitator to negotiate major infrastructure projects and initiatives for the benefit of the Australian Indian community in Victoria. 


✔︎ Negotiate with key stakeholders across governments, service providers and community to deliver such infrastructure initiatives in a realistic timeframe to realize targeted benefit. 


✔︎ Work with key government agencies and service providers to seek funding for the project and initiate community awareness initiatives to seek support and contribution to enhance community participation in such projects.
